Starving children

As you know i been on this hub only for a few days now . Telling you the life i live as a child in my mothers home. I have notice that over the years many folks have taken there down home values of the past and thrown them to the dogs.

I can also recall many times in my home where there was no food to eat for me and my brother. Which was not a very good thing being in a household with little or no food to eat . I can recall many times when my mother came in from working all day.

This one time she came home earlier than usually. She ask us was we really hungry. The reply was yes we are so hungry mother . She went on to tell us that she had not bought any food home and that the demon took her pay check and ran off to Las Vegas to gamble her money away. She cried there is no food at all in the box.

She said sorry kids . Lets see what i can make in the house for you guys to eat tonight. We told mother dont worry about it at all. She then took down some flour and and a onion to cut up small.

Then she ask my brother to go under the kitchen counter to get the cooking oil from under there. She took the onions and the cooking oil also the flour mix all them together on the stove . My mother was making some gravy . Boy did that smell so good when your belly is rumbling inside.

My mother then took out some old bread she had in the freezer . As kids we never like the bread ends at all . So she saved them for hard times . Which seems to come a lot in our home.

Well my mother took the bread toasted it brown and serve it too me and my brother for dinner that night. It was a great meal. I thank God my mother knew how to put a good fast meal together for us kids.

So the plot to this story is please take a look around your block or church see who might be in need of food . Try to lend a helping hand to help those children in need of food.

Remember the children of today are America's future doctors Lawyers and Dentist or who knows what can come out of giving up just a little bit of your change to help those in need. Also the Lord will bless you for giving with your heart to the needy.
